In 1986, while the construction of Officinae Pictorum / circa1221 was in progress, G.H. decided to treat the outside of the work as a bookcase, placing works in it the way you would place books.
In 1996, he started placing these works in the 100 drawers of the Small Image Archive. The archive was filled with works and ideas created during the course of that decade. It is a small archive, because a large one would be inconceivable: the outside of the work – the bookcase we talked about – would require no fewer than 15,000 works to fill!
