Every \u2018lighthouse\u2019 (flickering light) corresponds to an actual lighthouse in the Aegean Sea, placed at its exact coordinates on a scale of 1:41.000. The intensity, duration and frequency of the light emitted by each of the \u2018lighthouses\u2019 mimic the behaviour of the actual lighthouse.<\/p>

This work was originally conceived and designed in 1991 to be exhibited along with the work List of Lighthouses<\/i><\/b>. Visibility in the<\/i> Archipelago.<\/i> North, South, East, West<\/i> at Documenta IX, Kassel. It was to have been installed on a specially constructed ramp on the Fulda river, but this proved impossible for financial reasons.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

The Aegina Academy launched the programme “Image\/Reality\/Light” on Aegina on May 9-18, 2003 with the work’s journey on board the APOSTOLOS P. ferry from the port of Piraeus to the port of Aegina on Friday 9 May, 2003.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
